My kids are already in high school and I never went to a school dinner.
It’s a huge school… I don’t really know anyone. Where do I sit?

Find out beforehand a friend/neighbor that is going. Go with them and sit together. Find out beforehand if you can sit where you like, or if they place you at tables.

At this point I’m friends with most of my kids friends parents

Look if you can find someone who looks like she is feeling out of place and looks like she can use a friend, sit next to her and start a conversation. Win win. Look at it as a chance to make new friends.

It's pretty much like a wedding where you don't know anyone... You sit anywhere and hope for the best.
(I wouldn't go. So boring and I'm not an extrovert. I hate not knowing where to sit. You are brave for going.)
