a smoothie recipe which has frozen strawberries.
instructions are just to blend.
should I defrost first or blend when semi defrosted?

Frozen. Some blenders aren't strong enough for solidly frozen strawberries though. They can be slightly thawed.
Growing up, my mother always microwaved everything a bit before blending.
