Does anyone have any ideas recommendations for a private tutor (or maybe a course) for a BT adult woman with no formal Jewish education who wants to learn how to read Hebrew so she can daven more properly instead of relying on English or transliterations? NYC area or maybe online. Has ADHD. Had a tutor once before (male) who was very harsh with her right before Covid and this pushed her away. I also think there is a lot of embarrassment about not being able to do this and wanting some privacy around it. Any ideas/advice appreciated!

Not a tutor, but...
The website torahgames.org has some kriyah games that can help with mastering letters and nekudos.
If this woman would like to learn more than just transliteration, I highly recommend Kelley/Burden/Crawford's A Handbook to Biblical Hebrew. It is a combo textbook and exercise book. Answer key comes separately.

If she wants to learn with a teacher, she can also consider Partners in Torah or TorahMates. The TorahMates website lists kriah/learn to read Hebrew as one of the very common categories of learning they support.

I know someone excellent and can PM you her info. She worked with a good friend of ours who is a holocaust survivor and has taught Hebrew reading (and learns with) beginner adults. What's your email?
