We always have the same 2 families over on Shavuos every year, it's basically tradition at this point. However, this year, everyone is sick and I don't feel up to cooking and hosting at all.
The problem is that I kind of sort of implied that we'd be having them a couple weeks ago, like "can't wait to see you" etc. How do I uninvite them without being impolite? I've never had a situation like this before and I feel so bad but really don't see how to do it practically.

“Hi, just wanted to let you know that we’ll have to change plans this year. We’re all sick and I can’t manage hosting. We’d love to see you when we feel better!”

Call/ text today- “hey a, I’ve been really looking forward to shvuos but I don’t really feel up to hosting this year. I’m so sorry and iyh hope to have you next year again.”
I’m just into being straightforward but if you feel weird saying this I guess you’ll need more of an excuse?

The above is good advice.
Just do it today, don't wait any longer. They need enough time to make alternative plans.
