I’m looking for a job, is LinkedIn safe? If I apply for a job, they ask for information about me, like where I live, my résumé, etc. Can I apply?

LinkedIn as a site is legit. That doesn't mean that every individual posting is.

Put an inconspicuous emoji before the first letter of your name. This way you'll know when you get a message if it's auto generated or an actual recruiter.
Give general area where you live, not specific.
LinkedIn is legit, but there's also scammers out there so just be cautious. If something feels "off", trust your gut.
If you get a job offer, do extensive research to make sure the company is legit etc.
