Where should I order from in Lakewood? Not an over the top neighborhood, simple, but I want bekavodik, excited as it's my first girl.
From food to decor, what do ppl do?

When I made a baby girl Kiddush,

I brought cake, cookies, candy, and my neighbors brought a fruit platter, my sister-in-law made a salad.
We also severed herring and crackers we did not serve Cholent some people do.

I got throw out tablecloths from NPGS because I hate borrowing tablecloths from G'mach and then washing them. I think I am in the minority.
We did not have any flowers because I had a kid that goes to the ER every time we have cut flowers in the house(B"H he out grew it)Many people have this(or maybe it's just something I notice).

We put out everything in throw out platters. If you are making platters get the big Challah bags with zip-locks and just slid the platters in, when it's time for the Kiddush open the bag and slid the platters out.

We got the cake from Hershy's bakery on RT9 in Howell.

Kiddish express does the whole thing for a $35 service fee. She orders from Foodex, menachems kugel etc for you. She knows what needs to be ordered based on where you’re making the kiddish

Salads and diced fruit cups from baskets by blimi, cake and mini mousse cups from Schuck. Name cookies by frosted class. Pastries candy and soda from grocery store. Neighbors/friends got me another cake from Siegelman's.Someone got me sushi.someone else got me a fruit platter. People gave candy platers and peanut chew gift boxes.

How many ppl did you expect approx and how much of everything did you order? Meaning in terms of the pretty things...
I was going to get the tablecloths from gemach and centerpieces too...
I live in a basement and can't host men and women together but either my upstairs offered to host and then both could be up there, or men can be in shul and women by me, any thoughts one way or another? Would love to hear perspectives I'm not thinking of....

I got way too little of the nice plates napkins cups and cutlery. I expected up to 150 ppl but ordered kugel and cholent for 75 people and we still had leftovers. I got 3 medium salads . I used my living room dining area for men and kitchen in the back for ladies. I expanded my dining room table and used one 6 ft. folding table for the men and covered my counter and used my kitchen table for the ladies so needed four tablecloths. Like 8 10 sodas , 2 seltzers. Ordered 32 fruit cups, 12 mousse cups but should have gotten more.
