Reading all the threads , I’m curious about the numbers and if there is a magic amount of students that pay x amount that will allow a school to break even and how bare bones we can be . I have a feeling that just with salaries the cost per student is out of the typical family’s budget
Out of town high school
Theoretical school needs in admin salaries
Kodesh Principal
Chol Principal
Secretary
Director of student services
Curriculum coordinator
Extra curricular coordinator
Bookeeper
2 custodians
1 administrator
8 subjects a day for 4 grades - how much are we paying per period
Can pple chime in with proper salaries and other jobs that are necessary.
I have not clue the salaries these pple are pulling in but if the admin and teachers are breadwinners and have to pull in full salaries then it isn’t sustainable for tuition to be able to cover

My children went to a school for a few years where the tuition was $4,000-$9,000 less than most other frum schools in the area.
The classes were small and the teachers excellent.
It was run by two women. One handled the education side. One handled the financial/ legal side. There was no other administrative staff. Not even a receptionist.
Teachers were well paid, and always paid on time.
Parents were expected to be involved in order to keep costs down. Some volunteered as class mothers, some volunteered to drive on field trips (no busses needed), some organized special events, and fundraisers, some just came in to help do things for teachers... like make copies, laminate stuff, decorate bulletin boards. Whatever.
It's a great model. But I think it only works on a small scale.
