I know in shul every morning DH hears shofar & for chinuch, DS hears in school. But, does DH need to blow it for us at home? He does every year but never thought until now that it may not be necessary.

my father (when I was living at home) blew shofar in the morning when we had to get up for school. He would blow and then say "kumi la'avodas haborei!"
I miss that now that I am married.
