I am skirt challenged. I can only wear 2 different style skirts because of my shape.
I mean, I can wear anything but it won’t look good on me. So for years I’ve been wearing ONE skirt. I bought a few of the exact same skirt. Recently I discovered another style so now it’s 2 skirts. Weekday and shabbos. Even for simchas.
I can really use help. I am so bored of wearing the same skirts all the time. Maybe someone is built similar to me and can be of help and suggest something I have not tried.
I am 5ft tall and size 12-14. My thighs are big.
I’m in desperate need of a black skirt.
Can someone who is a similar size please suggest/link a skirt that might look good on me?
Thanks so much!

I am the same height as you and I only wear one type of skirt. I’ve tried many and nothing looks good.

I only wear dresses because my waist is too high.

Knee length pencil skirts work
Just got a pleated skirt but wear a sweater that covers the whole top. That could work too

What type of skirt do you wear?

A-line maxi skirts usually work for most body shapes. It what I prefer to wear over any other style.
I have A-lines in every conceivable material but I love my stretch denim Skirts and soft knits the best.
Try to avoid a skirt that ends mid-calf. Rather go for ankle length or knee length.

I am also 5' and I'm a size 18.
Only pencil skirts look good on me but I do wear long skirts for comfort. I wear dresses as well. For me the length of the skirt is most important, it must be just below the knee, midi is horrible.

Aren’t they very narrow? You must be a small size.

Me too! 5 feet and everything ends up looking like maternity on me. Would love links to skirts/outfits you wear.

I don’t get how people are wearing pencil skirts. I avoid those, they show my massive butt, hips and thighs. I wear a-line skirts like the Mia mod one.

I wear different types of skirts but my tops always cover the top part.
So it doesn't make a difference what type.

There ought to be alteration ladies who make house calls for skirt troubles, both shorter and longer.

How do you wear it? With shirts tucked in?
