This thread is dedicated to those kids who quite innocently make comments that make us blush or think twice (and three times!)...children really know the art of radical honesty! Feel free to share.
I have two from today..
My five year old was knocking at the door of dh's home office to get his attention. Then he said "I keep knocking and Abba won't answer. He must think I'm you."
Later he said "I think you should go back to the hospital and see if there is another baby in there...You're still fat."
(p.s. I'm only two weeks post partum, so this one didn't hurt my feelings...and "fat" is a compliment in our house, since I keep telling this ds he needs to eat more and "fatten up")

Not so cute, actually, but we were at our Rabbi's house about a year after getting married, and his 10 year-old son asked DH if he misses being single. We were all sitting together at the Shabbos table!

Dh and I were at a family friend once after we were married only a few weeks and their daughter asked us "do you have any kids?" I said no, and she said "well do you have any in your stomach??" Everyone sort of froze and looked over at us to see what we would say...I just kind of mumbled something...then she told me: "no, I dont think you do cuz youre too skinny!" I forgave her then

When I was all dressed to go to shul on Shavous and didn't feel quite right at 39 weeks pregnant, and my 5 yr old says "Mommy, you look like you're in pajamas!"
Well, thanks.

Just today my 4 year old daughter said:
"Mommy, I am as big as your butt!" (she meant - I am as tall as your waist, I suppose, LOL)

Uhoh... I hope she did it at home when no one else was around...
(Reminds me of my son- he measures himself against me, too, to see when he'll be as big as me. Last time he declared, "I'm as big as the baby!" Meaning his height was up to my stomach and the baby that goes along with it. )

Yes, ds said exactly the same thing...
this one is really ouch, but a 6 year old daughter of a rabbi came up to me and asked if my then 2 year old son was mine or adopted. I said I gave birth to him. She said, "I thought he was adopted, because you look too old to have babies." (I'm the same age as her mother who was pregnant at the time...then, 34)

my almost 4 year old looked at me on one of my awful afternoons and said, "Mommy you're so beautiful and nice. I love you."
(at nearly 8 months pregnant I felt like I was crowned and glowing after that comment).
I still treasure it.

My 3-year-old told me, "You're my best mommy in town."
Also, one day when I came downstairs wearing completely mismatched clothes (because I was heading down to get the clothes I really wanted out of the laundry), she said, "It's like a two-colored butterfly!"

For about a month before our wedding, DH's nephew who was 2 at the time kept asking "You're getting married?" Over and over...
So after our wedding when we were doing the family pictures, he was placed right in front of us. He turns around and says "You're married now?" So we say, "Yes." To which he replies "... Why?"
It's so cute, and we even have a picture of him turning around and us answering him. It's great.
