What dresses are in style these days for wedding guests?
The wedding will be yeshivish, in NYC. This summer. The chosson is the child of a cousin of mine. So not super close family. And I won't need to pose for pictures.
(I'm MO, and I'm pretty sure what I've worn to MO weddings will not be appropriate at this chasuna.)
Any suggestions welcome! Links too! I'm looking to spend under $200. (Or use something in my closet if deemed appropriate.)

I'm not in the U.S. anymore but back when I was, I used rent the runway on a number of occasions. Their tzniut stuff is limited but I've found some really great wedding guest dresses.

For these types of weddings I wear something nicer than my usual Shabbos clothes but not floor-length. Apparalel often has pretty stuff. Sometimes I’ll search long sleeve midi dress on off Saks or Nordstrom and find something there.

In either color, with a dressier belt and nude heels.

This post made me want to check out rtr again just for fun, and actually there's way more options now that midi dresses are in. Some of these are as low as 30 dollars to rent. Just a note- some have openish backs, so you'd wear a shell, but imo, it shouldn't be an issue because the dresses have long sleeves and good necklines so it doesn't ruin the overall asthetic. Some also might have sheer sleeves, so you can just wear a nude shell (or another color matching the dress). When you rent, you always get an extra included at no cost so you can size one up or down, in case they run big or small. But the reviews say how they run, and include pictures of how they look on regular people.
So if you're interested in renting one, click through the reviews to gauge what size to order.
Just what I saw skimming:

OT but THANK YOU, OP, for specifying "wedding guest dress" and not, as most imamothers do, "wedding dress." You made it clear that you're not ISO a dress in which to get married.

True to size, for Shein.
I find that their clothing runs small, so while I'm usually a medium or a size 8, with Shein clothing, I'm a large. (I am also well-endowed compared to Asian women, and the large fits me well.)
It doesn't feel like cheap material. If you decide to buy it, I hope it works for you.
Just please, don't wear it to the same chasunah I'm going to in a few weeks! 😉

I don't know how old you are but want to mention that at the Lakewood weddings I've been to recently, 99.9% of the middle aged women were wearing all black

I'm in my mid-50s. The wedding is not in Lakewood. And no way am I wearing black. It's not a black tie affair, and I want to wear something a bit more fun and colorful.
