This is not a paid ad and I am in no way, shape, or form affiliated by Kav Halacha. I wanted to post because I've had a pretty simple question to ask a rav and our rav has been in Israel for a while and it seemed too mundane to track him down to ask. I remembered seeing an ad in Mishpacha for Kav Halacha so I googled and easily found the number to call in the US. Within 2 minutes, a rav picked up, listened to me, asked a few follow up questions, and told me what to do. I have no idea who he was and he did not ask me for personal info at all. He was really nice and I can tell he wanted to give me the best answer he could.
I know so many of us have no LOR or can't easily access ours, or feel weird asking what we may feel is a dumb or like me, a mundane question. In my case, I was kind of embarrassed to ask. This was PERFECT. IYH bli neder when I have the ability, I plan to make a small donation to the service, as it was free.
It's like chaverim, but for halacha!

Can someone explain the difference between this and a Beis Horaah?

Same regarding phone calls..just no walk in option AND available 24 hours. They have respected rabbanim from all over the world and in different time zones so no matter what time it is you can access a rav. They are the same rabbanim who are in your local bais horaah.
It's really an amazing service
