We’re expecting a boy in the summer iyH. NY/NJ area Shabbos starts pretty late. Did you put a start or end time on a shalom zachor announcement? Is it worth us making early Shabbos or just make late. Dh is worried he’ll be sitting entertaining for many hours bec ppl will come early who make early Shabbos and then the late crowd after.

This is community dependant. Some give no times. Some do. Some make early shabbos others don't. Hubby needs to know his chevra to know what to expect. As a mom of several boys bh . Summer shalom zachers in our neighborhood are usually very quiet. Many people are away those that are around often just stay home after such late suda

We know that some of dh’s friends make early and some make late, in our community it’s kind of split. We’re not in a place where many people go away for the summer and men (sometimes women) and the kids friends come even if it’s late so if some people are away it can still be a crowd.

I’ve never really seen times written. Personally I’d make early shabbos so I know I’ll be ready when the first guests show up. But IME most come later anyway.

We made regular shabhos, but had a quick meal and skipped dessert. A couple of people came while we were still setting up, so they just helped us.
