You're on the phone with your mother (or anyone) and she has a visitor you know and she puts you on speaker and says "say hello to -----" like I'm put on the spot.

Ugh, I always hated the expression "say hello to...." as if you're a trained dog. I don't consider it awkward, exactly, as I don't find it embarrassing; it's just incredibly irritating.

When someone greets you by name, you have no idea who they are, they tell you their name and you still have no clue who they are.
"Wow, what an amazing memory you have, how long has it been?"
"Three weeks."
Oops.
