1. Don't self clean more than 1x a year for pesach
2. Avoid self clean even for that is possible

Damaged wiring can cause oven to not heat after self-cleaning. Wires can be melted and damaged if the self-clean cycle gets too hot.

I assume that since it's a function on my oven it should not cause this
Is this on every oven should I not self clean?

(Ive never self cleaned before, I just put oven on 500 for long time
This year I moved to a new house
The oven is old with a self clean option so I was planning to do that )

My oven broke from self clean. I will try to never use this feature again when I get a new oven.

My friend only self cleans for.pesach and she had it multiple times that it broke from self cleaning. Full disclosure, this happened anywhere from 5-20 years ago, and maybe today's ovens are better. Fuller disclosure, there were years she aelf cleaned twice on a row because she didn't like how it looked...

I think Davening is the way to go

Has anyone ever had this happen with a single wall oven? Everytime I've heard it happen (which is many), it's always been a double oven. Just wondering if I'm maybe "safe" because mine is a single

And make sure no part of the oven is covered when self cleaning and have windows open if possible, the fresh air circulating around the oven helps. I always line everything after self cleaning my oven.

Really? I never saw people mentioning whether it's single or doubles. Maybe mine is "safer" too if it's single...

The appliance store says that starting about 20 years ago they began to put computer chip planels in ovens. These are very sensitive to heay an break from the self clean. I asked why the feature exists if it breaks the oven and he shrugged.

Range ovens also break! But wall ovens seem particularly sensitive.

All ovens that broke from self cleaning had it as a function. Don't ask me, I'm also confused how it's possible

My repair guy also told me that when you put the range inside the oven it makes it higher and makes it brake. In addition to the new chip in the computer that is sensitive in the new ovens
