Regarding the chassidish yichus more common I have heard this is because most of lita and Germany were wiped out in the war. So majority of people are descendants of chassidim. Also there was lower rates of assimilation, so more frum descendants that know their lineage.

I'm a descendant of R' Avraham Schreiber (and therefore ksav sofer, chasam sofer and R' Akiva Eiger). Anyone else?

Just seeing this now. Yes, I'm related to R Eiger and Chasam Sofer.

Are you related to Gross? I'm pretty sure by great grandfather lived in Scranton - one of his sons in law was Reuven (Rubi) Mendlowitz who was a (half) brother to R' Shraga Feivel. R' Shraga Feivel lived in Scranton for 7 years working as a Rebbi.

Yes, was thinking the same. We are not related to the thumim family.

My grandparents have at least 10 sets of twin great grandchildren. (and only 1 was prob. IF related)

Non identical twins are genetic which makes sense that you have so many. It isnt common for a whole family of siblings to have one or more twin granchildren. One of my aunts has three sets.
It usually runs in the family.
We happen to be einiklach of that family as well.
