On the ancestor thread someone wrote they have a Tzava’a not to marry a kohen.
Can I hear why?
Just curious.

It's from an ancestor who lived in the 1600s so we don't really know why, but I just recently read that he said that he was a descendant of dovid hamelech and mixing malchus and Kahuna in one family could be destructive.
Some people say that after 10 generations it doesn't apply anymore.

It's hard enough to find a shidduch without adding conditions. Not that kohanim are so thick on the ground that avoiding them would seriously impact your chances, but still, why write them off unless you have a halachic reason such as being divorced or a challalah?

Considering that the daughter of a convert or divorcee can marry a kohen, and the daughter of a challalah married to a Yisrael can also marry a kohen, it's probably safe to assume that the restriction against marrying kohanim has probably dissipated by now.
