I start short dresses around 2. I think kids that age look silly in bloomers and the knits and 2 pieces make them look under dressed.

I think a really short dress with bloomers underneath could be more appropriate for her.

Once they are walking, for me I see no reason not to put on a dress. I am waiting eagerly for my toddler to start walking so I can put dresses on her! |
I think because people like to keep them looking like babies for as long as possible. Especially when it’s their youngest.a dress is def a more “grown up” look so it’s a preference.

I agree with this. If its a youngest let babies stay babies they can wear dresses the rest of their life. But each to their own! Both are cute!

I do that for weekday, but for Shabbos in shul I sometimes feel funny putting pants on

Thing is many of us dress our girls completely tzniusdikly from 3. So 2 is really the time to enjoy those adorable short-sleeve over-the-knee dresses.

My daughter is almost 2.5. I just made a Bar Mitzvah and she wore dresses for the first time. Shabbos day one I shortened to an over her knee. It has little cap sleeves and she looked so adorable! For the night affair she wore a short tulle dress that was also beyond precious! I also bought 2 2 piece set with bloomers type of look for shabbos for the summer. My daughter is tall and romper looked very silly. Plus, I hope to toilet train her sometime over the summer.
Everyone has their own taste and style. Do what you like.

What do your 2 year old daughters wear for shabbos? | I only dress my daughter in dresses for Shabbos since she's been about 1.5 years old.
I waited 10 years to have a girls- no one is taking away my right to dress her as a girly girl!

Same. I find it silly in big tall kids and it's naked all the way from the panty line. Looks outgrown or like you didn't have enough fabric. Sometimes sleeveless can give that look too.
Especially on tall or mature looking toddlers. My 23 mo will be wearing Mini dresses with bloomers enderneath or ribbed short shorts.
So precious!!
I also have a pretty romper for shul of weddings/simchas.
She'll be 2 soon but has hair down her back. Is tall and looks and acts like she'll be 3 next week.
