A WhatsApp group or Facebook group are great for these things.
I live in Australia, so not helpful for most of you. But I’m on a few WhatsApp chats for this type of thing.
People post what they are selling or giving away and other people in the community benefit.
We have a baby group as well, which is great, so many baby items are just used for a short time and then can be used by someone else. And people can borrow things like a swing/highchair/car seat if they have their kids coming to visit.
I’m not the admin of these groups so I don’t know how much work it is, but I don’t think it’s that much for them.
