How do you boil eggs? Water first then add eggs? Or all together at once?
I usually just dump water and eggs in the pot and wait til the first egg starts to crack but I’d love an actual method lol 😂

I've had the most success with this method:
1) Bring the water to a rolling boil
2) Put in the eggs (either one at a time with a slotted spoon gently, or my preferred method, putting them all in together in a steamer basket)
3) Cover pot, keep water boiling, boil for 18 minutes
4) Put eggs in cold water immediately
Also adding my tip if your eggs are hard to peel:
Crack them across the pointy tip and try to peel from there. Works almost all the time.

Dump water and eggs in pot, turn on flame to medium. Remove from flame after 30 min and rinse eggs in cold water.

Water & eggs. Bring to boil. Once it boils, cook 5-6 min for soft boiled, 7 for hard boiled.

I put water - enough for the eggs to be covered. Once it bubbles I lower the flame and cook for 12-14 minutes. Then I let cold water run on it for 3-5 minutes

I second this.
As far as peeling: drain the water from the pot, add cold water (enough to almost cover) then shake side to side to crack all the shells. They’re easier to peel when water gets between the shell and the membrane…

The longer the eggs cook the smellier they get.
I bring the water to a boil. Add the eggs. Cook for 9 minutes. Less if you want jammier. Pour off the water. Run cold water over it for a few minutes.

This is so smart. I usually have one egg explode on me. Even if I lower the flame when adding them.

Wow, I'm so surprised. I cook for eggs for much less time! and they're perfectly hard boiled
Put eggs and water in pot
bring to a boil
let it boil (high rolling boil) for ONE minute
remove from flame, immediately cover and let it sit for 20 minutes in the hot water

Your eggs are still cooking in the hot water for those extra 20 minutes so I wouldn't call it cooking for less time.
I cook mine for 9 minutes and immediately dunk under freezing cold water to stop the cooking process.

I boil water, then add eggs. Return to full boil. Then turn off the flame and cover the pot. Leave eggs alone for at least 18 minutes.

Yes but
1) it doesn't need babysitting anymore
2) it's cooking but not boiling - and the color is so much nicer

Hard boiled eggs *ENERGY SAVING METHOD*
Eggs in cold water plus:
one tea spoon salt
approx. one tablespoon white vinegar (the cheapest money can buy)
Bring to a boil. Turn off heat and cover with lid for 15 min.
Pour off hot water
Add coldest possible water
Put in fridge to cool down if you don't eat them right away.
Salt adds taste and makes easy peeling.
Vinegar prevents cracking and smell.

15 minutes and covered with lid is enough. No need for 20 min.
The 15 min. method isn't the shortest time but it's the most energy efficient AFAIK.

No need to boil for 30 min.

I switched to your method after years of boiling 7 min on the dot.
No more baby sitting and less energy.

Can I add a question? Do you have to use an odd number of eggs or just more than 3 halachicaly? I remember learning this or hearing of this somewhere.
