Is there only one kindergarten where you live?
Apply to all the possible options in your area - don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
That’s a segula to increase your chances of getting in.

In some communities there are only a few places and therefore very few slots.

In other communities if you miss the Sukkos(!) deadline your toast.

I just had this. Bh hashem helped and iyh will help op too. But it’s stressful.

Also, in other communities kindergarten is actually pre1A/primary so yes…

It's tough. I'm not from one of "those" communities but I've had even the community school of our oot community tell me they're full. I guess communities are growing. Some schools have preconceived ideas of the "type" they want. Daven.

The Chafetz Chaim writes that a segula for a good melamed for your child is to fund another child's education. That's the only segula that we found and it's out of our price range.

You can donate to school campaigns towards a child's education

The idea how I understood it was to take on the full tuition for one specific child

Does it count if you support a school that takes many boys who can’t pay tuition? We donate more than one child’s tuition but not to a specific child just the school as a whole.

Fit into the exact mold the school wants parents to be. Impress them. Not a segula but it can work

This is as baffling to me as Mikvahs being so full they have slots all through the early hours of the morning . Why don’t communities have enough resources for their members? Why do people choose to live in a place where something as simple as getting into kindergarten requires a segulah?

It’s a problem everywhere.

I lived in town. It was hard to get in because there simply isn’t though schools for kah the huge amount of kids.

I lived out of town. There simply wasn’t enough schools because of less demand….

It may be a problem in the places you loved but it’s definitely not ‘everywhere’ .

I live OOT and its getting harder here then it used to be when my oldest started in the system. The number of kids being born is outpacing the growth of institutions and its very very hard.

Bitachon, truly believing that she WILL get in because Hashem wants this to happen for you.

This a thousand times over.
Remember when you apply and when you speak to the school admin, that it's not their efforts that will get you into the school, it's all from Hashem. And if they don't accept you it's for the best and Hashem has another plan for you. But don't give them the power that it's their deciding factor, the one that makes the decision is Hashem and they are merely the messengers.
