Married almost 16 years about 150k in savings 110k in retirement and 130k in investment no home no debt 4 kids kh it doesn’t matter what you have or don’t have it’s a matter of being happy with what Hashem gave you and look for the good in everything even when it’s hard I am talking to myself as I need to internalize this more than anyone

Married 17 years. Bought our house straight out for 350k now its worth 1 million+, no mortgage. Have around 1 million in savings, invested. Our savings come from a trust fund we have barely touched over the years, but recently have been dipping into. My husband and I both work but bring in very little income compared to what we spend. Our income is actually embarrassing. We do make a bit every year on our investments though. But only a bit.

Dh doesn’t believe in retirement plans or insurance policies (besides for death insurance). We have a lot invested in real estate bh (plus other investments like stocks). That’s our retirement plan.

I am in Israel - so I'll post in Nis
60k nis( 17k $) cash savings
250 k nis retirement (401k equivalent - around 67k$)
Own our home - worth 1.6 million nis/ around 450k$, currently rented out
No debt
Married 8 years
1 kid - we have SIF, hope to have more soon
We rent, are a kollel couple with no stipend, no support beyond the 200k nis we got for down payment
I think our financial situation is a downright miracle, we have seen yad hashem in so so many ways over the years.

Married 10 years with 3 kids
I think about 125k in savings
No house and no hope of ever buying one
Poor parents and in laws who cannot help at all for anything
Working ourselves to the bone
Terrified for the future

BH we make about 250k combined, but that is recent. We made much less over the years.
I mentioned I have about 70k in investments. My father made me put most of my paycheck into investments when I was still single. I bless him for that. I only put in about 30k, but over the 20+ years it's grown.
The 600K in 401k--work matches up to 5% (not all dollar for dollar). I've been working there for 23 1/2 years years. I only put in a small percent of my salary pretax, but with the employer match and time to grow--bh it's grown nicely.

Wow this is amazing! And it’s so important to see how small sacrifices and forethought can get you so far.
I paid for my wedding and dh grew up in a family that spends every dollar they have. It makes me feel so bad we have no savings. I would gladly forgo flowers, eating out and budget vacations. But dh doesn’t understand and it’s my shalom bayis at stake so my hands are tied.

If you don't mind sharing, how do you have that much in Savings already? Is it all from putting away this year from your income? Or from wedding money?
Just wondering bc we had zero the first year(we paid for our own wedding and no help)
