Syrian cookbook recommendation

Hi,

I am looking for a recommendation for a good Syrian cookbook. It could be devoted to Syrian food or could be a more general one.

I know about Aromas of Aleppo but was told the recipes don't actually hold up well (cooking times off, etc.) and that it is more a coffee table book.

Are there any other options? Or is that still the best one?

Vera Newman's cookbook, the Marblespoon, has alot of Syrian inspired receipes. Her Grandmother was syrian. Her Hashu stuffed capons, and Chicken thighs in peas, A meat and rice dish as well, come to mind.
The original "Deal Delights" was a spiral and just receipes. Most people want pictures today. It is also hard to find as well as Rae Dayan's " For the Love of Cooking" another out of print book.
There is another cookbook more readily available called " A Fistful of Lentils" by Jennifer Abadi. Saw a few on Amazon, though I never personally used it. "Aromas of Aleppo" is my go to.

called
freshcookbook

I googled... Does "Seasoned with Love" with a green cover sound right?

Try calling kitchen caboodles in Brooklyn they have the deal delight cookbook maybe they have some other spiral ones there's also Sarine roffe who has a bunch of recipes. A lot of recipes are passed down thru generations and word of mouth

It’s very nice
Lots of interesting recipes
Not exactly Syrian basics
Not like the Aleppo cook book

There’s an old dark pink one
I think from AhiEzer
I don’t have it but I heard it’s very good for Syrian Recipes

I can definitely try Kitchen Caboodles (I'm in Brooklyn).

Thanks for all these suggestions. It's really helpful.

For the Deal Delights, I see online there are 2 that are older (vol 1 and vol 2) and then there is one called Deal Delights Classics which is newer. As far as I can tell, the newer one is just a selection from the first two? And perhaps modernized a bit(?)

No, not looking for anything specific... just wanted something that offered a good overview of Syrian dishes, but not a gourmet/chef type version... more looking for recipes women actually make that are tasty, have the flavor profile right, but not overly complicated.

As a parallel example, I had two different Moroccan cookbooks at some point in the past. With both books, the recipes were either historical or tons of ingredients and complicated directions. I just wanted to make yummy shabbos dips that were always called "Moroccan" this or "Moroccan" that... Eventually I figured out that most of the "recipes" I needed were only 3-4 ingredients. They weren't complex/complicated at all.

I am really just looking for some dips, salads, kibbeh, simple desserts (not necessarily pastry)... that type of thing. Mainly for Shabbos.
