How much is your tuition and other funds for your mesivta boy who dorms? And how much do you pay. Feeling overwhelmed.
Also- How is a building fund different than tuition?

Same. I’m not sure exact numbers but it’s between $20-25k with dorm and transportation (he comes home every Shabbos).

I don't have a mesivta kid this year, but last year I paid about $17k all inclusive (yeshiva, dorm, food, etc). NOT tristate. We paid full tuition until my husband lost his job. Then we paid much less per month. Most yeshivos will work with you.

Building fund is specifically for the building. Especially if they have a mortgage. Tuition is for everything else.

Would you be able to tell me which Mesivta this is? Considering for my son to dorm next year and this would be very hard for him. It would probably be easier if he came home every shabbos

Most mesivta yeshivos understand that dorming is hard for the boys and have options for the boys to come home for Shabbos, and even sometimes during the week if needed. Especially for 9th graders.
They usually work with the families and the boys.

Many Lakewood mesivtas don't have dorms so full price is cheaper - around 12k.
The dorms are for Bais Medrash.

It's Ohavei Torah in Riverdale but there are others where the boys come home every Shabbos in ninth grade (and possibly one day during the week too). I believe in Carteret, Edison, and Ohr Naftoli the boys have teh option to go home for Shabbos in ninth grade.
