There are some posters I would love to meet in real life but can’t imagine doing a random meet up with a bunch of anonymous posters.

Right, we’ve got it backwards.
First everyone should’ve introduced themselves here. And consistently post under their SN. Share their name and location and family history. Perhaps their bank account info. Then it would be interesting to go to the next step and meet up.
Right now it feels pointless to meet imamother rosepink and Coral.

Meetups used to be pretty common and they were fun. I understand that imamother has changed (completely) but there’s no need to mock the previous culture that was conducive to meetups.

I was not mocking it at all! I actually wish I was on this site in those days, it seemed much more friendly and I especially wish people posted under their SNs more. I don't think it's that way anymore but I wish it were

I’m also not mocking and totally understand why it was interesting in the past!
If you really know each other well and feel like real friends then only the face is missing. The meetup tied that up with a neat bow. This is not the case here now. It’s 90% anonymous.

I don't post under my sn super often but I'd go to a meetup just to meet new people. It's hard to make new friends in Lakewood
