I had no idea of this "policy" when I signed her up. A note was sent out a little while ago not to send with certain symptoms which I get as thingsa re going around. They never said they won't be changing them. In addition, how would I know if my daughter was going to have a loose diaper. She in general sometimes has them depending what she ate.
She is feeling ttly fine. I wouldn't consider what she had diarrhea tbh. It was a bit looser than normal but definitely not liquid.
I was honestly going to give on my application for next year there but am completely rethinking it.

I personally wouldn't give in an application after this and I'd tell them why. Really not ok

Disagree. If you're in a meeting where you're active participant, you usually can't drop it without unending the entire meeting. Especially if you have senior folks in the meeting, you can't just step out for a dirty diaper change. If it's a true emergency, then of course. But for a morah's refusal to change the diaper, it's ridiculous.
Honestly, the policy makes no sense. What happens if the mother doesn't respond immediately? When people are in meetings, they often have their phones silenced. Would they have left the poor baby sitting in her filth till they can get hold of her?.
I don't get the concerns about contagions. Can't the Morahs use gloves and wash their hands well? When the mother shows up, she will anyways change the child in the same area. So its just a matter of gloves, alcohol wipes and handwashing.

I always wear gloves while changing diapers in my daycare, regardless. And of course sanitize and wash hands after. To leave a child in a dirty diaper is so crazy to me.
If possible, change daycare, this seems very off. AND if this policy was never mentioned before! What other hidden policies are there
there? Not ok.

Thou our policy is that the child needs to be picked up within 30 min by either a parent or an emergency contact |
What happens if the parents don't make the 30 minute deadline? (We live in Brooklyn, and both of us work in Manhattan an hour away. My emergency contact may not be available to be there within 30 minutes - when I asked her to serve as my emergency contact, I didn't require that she be tied down to within a 30 minute radius of my kid's playgroup at all times. Then what?)
