Diarrhea and playgroup

What's your policy or your child's teacher policy? I'm just curious. My daughter is feeling fine, didn't have any diarrhea at all as of this morning. Teacher text me she made diarrhea and they don't change those diapers. I feel bad for them but honestly my kid was fine this morning...how in the world am I supposed to know she would do that....is this a normal policy? I did not send a sick kid school. She was feeling fine. They won't change her and I am at work. Very upsetting as I can't leave for another half hour.

Not ok for the kid to leave them sitting in it!

I think it's ok to call you to come get her, and tell you to please not send her back until her diapers are regular. But for now they really should change the diaper. Poor kid! She could get a rash!

They informed me that they won't change it as per policy. I am just really annoyed honestly. If she was sick and I knew it would be one thing but she was 1000% fine.

In general, kids get sent home if they have more than 1 diarrhea, but refusing to change it is just cruel to the child. My childs preschool won’t change dirty accidents and call parents but dirty diapers is absurd .
Unless they are more nervous now because of shigella..

As a preschool teacher we definitely change those diapers and underwear. We will let the mother know that the kid has diarrhea and the mother will then decide to keep home or send the mext day.
It is not ok to let a kid sit in a dirty diaper

I'm a playgroup morah! Thats a gross policy! (pun Intended!)
You change the child(put on gloves if you have to)and tell parents not to send back until child has normal diaper.
If that's their policy, they should let parents know before you sign up.
I would never send me child to a playgroup with such a policy. It shows a lack of compassion and caring to the child.

It’s not ok not to change it! They can say come pick your kid up if it’s not the end of the day. But you don’t leave the kid in their filth which probably hurts!

It's almost the end of the day I just can't leave honestly this minute. I just think it's not nice to leave her. I will deal with it when I get her but I think they should've just changed and told me and I will see how she is when I get home. It's just so not fair to her.

I picked up my daughter. I am so upset how it was handled. They just didn't change her. Honestly it was NOT bad. They told me she is about to leak and has a "terrible diarrhea". I expected it all over the place from the way the teacher spoke. I just am so annoyed they can refuse to change a kid.

This is terrible, how old is your child?
I have changed babies that have made up until their neck. I just put on gloves and dealt with it like it was my kid minus a bath.
I have heard that kids in the toilet trained classes if they are dirty must be cleaned by the parent even in the middle of the day.

I actually just remembered my DS made a few weeks after he was toilet trained, he was nearly 3 and it was near the end of the afternoon, his gannenet (private gan) called to ask me to bring fresh underpants and pants, when I came she had done a quick shower waist and down and he was sitting all clean in a towel.

Can they not atleast clean the poor child and then alcohol wipe the changing area?

As a playgroup morah I change diapers.
If a kid throws up I understand the need to call a parent but dirty diapers are part of working with children
If you don't like it then don't work with children
People can't just leave work like that ...
I don't get it ...

Yeah that's pretty weird. My children have sensitive stomaches and their diapers were constantly runny, and leaks were not uncommon. No teacher ever sent them home, let alone complained about it.

Our policy is that the child cannot come back until they have a diaper that is 100% Tegular. We definitely would change the child thou ( and sanitize everything in the vicinity
Thou our policy is that the child needs to be picked up within 30 min by either a parent or an emergency contact

My daughter is almost three and I've actually been wanting to train her but the teacher asked me to hold off. ( I have never had a teacher ask me that either in the past ...) I sent an email to head of the school. It bothers me I left work in middle of something that needed to be done and it was so lose to he end of the day. I am much more upset that they just left her and she told me that morah wouldn't change her.

It was towards the end of the day and I was going to get her within 45 minutes anyways. They also sent me a text and didn't specify they wanted me to get her. I thought is was informational. I responded she was fine this morning. Then they sent me a voice note that they're ant to know when I am coming to get her ....
