If someone is doing something niche, for example using a accounting degree in Lakewood, or supervisor for one of the medical billing places, they can go well into the 6 figures. RN doing remote work for nursing homes pays well too.
Eta: I'm not saying it's common, I'm just addressing your comment that office jobs cqp at 50-60k, and saying higher salaries exist.

Also, I agree with the others saying what shes interested in.

CPA and kollel wife of over 20 years here. I haven't worked in tax since 2012; there are so many other things you can do. I work for a national public accounting firm that specializes in healthcare assurance and fraud investigation. I had a flexible work arrangement since my oldest was born but since COVID I basically work from home. I absolutely love it and feel I have bh a good work-life balance. I am vocal about this because people hear accounting and think immediately tax season and crazy schedules that a wife/mother can't maintain and they don't know there are plenty of other opportunities out there.

Where did you get this information? Because AFAIK, starting salary here is 50k, but 9 to 5. All the girls I speak to who are just starting out work 9 to 5.

I’m an SLP and work from home doing teletherapy. Regular school SLP jobs are terrible nowadays but teletherapy gives me good work life balance and pays pretty well through an agency and very well through contracts if you directly contract with districts that are desperate for SLPs (many are). But I’m not sure if NJ allows teletherapy.

I vote programming. It’s a flexible job - many ppl end up cutting their hours. You can take a boot camp in 9 months (some have self paced options so you can do it even shorter)
If you’re a hard worker and willing to work full time non Jewish companies pay a ton. Jewish companies don’t pay that bad either. Very easy job to work remote.

$85-$100/hour. If you’re willing to work west coast hours some places in California are paying $125/hour. This is contracting directly, not working for an agency.

My understanding is that the market is not that hot any more. Employers now have a choice of employees and the pay is no longer that high.

That's correct. I think, as we see from this thread, in every industry there are those who make it and those who struggle. Those who find jobs with great flexibility and benefits and those who kill themselves to make it work. Go into a field that 'makes sense' and that uses skills you have and enjoy and daven that Hashem smooth the path for you.

The amother who voted programming- which course are you referring to? with one of the frum programs?
And can you make enough to support a family even with less hours than full time? (Let's say up to 25 hrs/wk) or its only a good job if you work many hrs?

I see a few people suggesting programming. I have a few questions- is it something you can start later in life? I am not happy in my field and want to switch, is it something that's really hard to start at age 40?both in terms of schooling and jobs?
Also- do you have to be a certain type to do well at this carreer? What type?
And is it easy to find part time work?

I know someone who worked 32 hours a week and was told that with 4 years of experience they should be making 100k. This is third hand info tho… I work full time so I don’t really know salaries for part time…
