I think dina is up to something. It doesn’t make sense that she’d be ok with eli owning the house and living in the basement, even if it’s rent free.
And what was uncle aharon and eli talking about while he esti was in a different room taking her online class ? Seems like she may have missed some pieces of the story to the offer eli is now giving dina.

Also think there might be a reason. But Dina is the youngest, so can't be from a previous marriage. Maybe an affair lol

To all those asking about what money Eli is using- he's made it quite clear before Uncle Aaron's original offer that he would be able to buy it if Dina would live in the basement and rent out the upstairs. He would take out a bigger mortgage and get a higher rent from the upstairs to pay it back.

Down payment money is still needed, even in this scenario. And the story definitely portrays their finances in a way that eli wouldn’t have this kind of money. The business isn’t doing well, remember.
