I am purchasing a weighted blanket for my kid. The last one I purchased was ruined because of an overnight accident.
I don’t see a waterproof duvet cover for this size (42x60)
What do you use to protect the weighted blanket if your kid sometimes has accidents at night?

I bought a cheap washable weighted blanket. No duvet cover.

Probably easier and cheaper to get a washable weighted blanket.

Waterproof will be so sweaty and hot.

How can you sleep that way? It’ll defeat the entire purpose of the weighted blanket.

And never buy a blanket that can’t be washed. It’s too unsanitary

I thought you can’t wash the weighted blankets? Don’t they have all those heavy beads? How do you wash the blanket?
Is it a specific washable one?

There are knit weighted blankets that are more comfortable than beads. Not all are washable but some are.
This comes into different weights.

I don't know if I was supposed to wash it but I washed it twice and it came out perfect. It was cheap enough that I figured I'll take the chance. (But it's a nice blanket. Doesn't feel cheap or anything.)

How do you figure out which weight to purchase?

It's based on your child's weight. Maybe 10% or something?

Look at the size chart, there is a certain weight that's safe in relation to the child's body weight
