Yiddish is hard to find outside Yerushalayim. There are a few chassidish enclaves like Kfar Chabad, but they're not necessarily Yiddish speaking.
And even where Yiddish is spoken - it's Yiddish+Hebrew, not Yiddish+English, so the vocabulary might be a bit foreign to you.
Do you have any other criteria for things that would help you feel at home?

Culturally, you may enjoy Elad. It's a beautiful Torah city
Other places off the top of my head:
Beitar Illit
Brachfeld neighborhood of Modiin Illit
Some sections of Tsfat
And, of course, many neighborhoods in Yerushalayim

There's a large yiddish speaking community in Beit Shemesh, many American families.
We've also been looking in to options for a chassidish yiddish speaking family, & Beit Shemesh is on the list. I'm looking for schools that teach yiddish, English, and Hebrew. (Not even sure it exists.)
Elad has a nice yiddish speaking community, but I think it's mainly Viznitz families.

Romema neighborhood in yerushalayim has many English / Yiddish speaking families. It’s very expensive to rent / buy an apartment though.
I’ve also heard that the new streets in ramat Shlomo have some American chassisish families too.

Romema area in Yerushalayim. It’s right near Belz, where many are Yiddish speaking, and has many Europeans who also speak Yiddish and English. If you are not used to driving, a benefit is that you have everything you need in the neighborhood.
The downside is that it is very expensive. In the other hand, maybe prices are similar to Boro Park rent? I don’t live there anymore so I don’t have the exact numbers of either place.

About how much does it cost to buy a 3-4 bedroom apartment there? Is it more than the Beit Shemesh?

In yerushalayim- in Gush80, Ezrat Torah, Romema... areas.
There is a school Bnos Hadassa that is Chassidish American/English. They have yiddish and English speaking classes.

I would second Beitar.
3-4 bedroom apartment probably ~ 2M shekels (hope that's accurate).

My opinion is that it can only work in Yerushalayem for boro park family. Bnos Hadassa makes the move really smooth if you have girls. 2/3s of Jerusalem is English speaking. Basing this on people I know that did this move, chassidish bp style.
You can't compare the adjustment to those that did yerusalem as opposed to other areas.

I know some Gerrer families from NY who very happily live in the Ger area in RBS Bet/ the Kiryyah.
I also know chassidish families, don't know what chassidus they are, that made aliyah to Beitar.

Have you looked at ramat shlomo?
Its seems like the only affordable option for the chassidish american family who wants to stay in yerushalayim. The other option is RAmat beit shemesh

Romema is not really recommend for a family that wants to move there long term
besides being insanely expensive its not so much of a community
Its more people living for themselves (lived there for 5 years but as a young couple, the older families always mentioned the missing community aspect especially when living sooooo far away from family)
if you crave hearing english in the streets and being in an American vibe you can always take a bus there
I know some families that settled long term in givat zeev
heard of ones in beitar, brachfeld and ramat beit shemesh daled...)
I would recommend bnos haddasa as the perfect transition school
but skvere more chassidish also has alot of americans

Hi OP.
Sorry for bumping up this older thread, but I am looking for a similar community to you.
Did you end up moving to Eretz Yisroel? If so, would you mind to share where you ended up moving to, and how it is working out? Thanks so much!
