Seriously?
He said it's standard that his clients log in to their accounts at his office (he doesn't see or save those details) but he needs to review this to get a better picture of how to advise.

No. Not normal. Asking for bank statements is normal. He doesn't need account numbers, but number of accounts and account balances is info he would want to review.

Thats not the same as requiring access. Why dont you just print for him all you account financial details.

Access to an account is not the same as access to the numbers in the account. Never give the former and you can do a print out for the latter.

he said he just looks around after I log in, but doesn't keep my log in information.
Same for credit card account.
Is this really unheard of? Wow.

Huge red flags.
I would be on the phone with my Rav asking if I can report this to authorities if he’s Jewish. If he’s not Jewish I’d just report.

Why can’t you just tell him all the numbers?

Seriously not normal, pretty concerning. Either the guy has bad intentions, or he's just not that bright and also very unprofessional. I would not work with him.

If he doesn't understand that it's a breach of protocol, I can't imagine he would know how to properly handle your sensitive financial information, even if he doesn't keep your login info.

I'm very surprised because he works under an organization so I would have assumed that everything is completely legit. I thought I was just not informed about what's usual, because he insisted that this is completely standard.

If he's part of an organization, can you reach out to the organization to ask if this is standard protocol for them? I would be very surprised.

I don't get why everyone is freaking out! It seems completely normal to me that he would like to look at your bank account to see how you're spending and why you're falling into debt or are losing money. He has no way to get into your bank account in general. Why would he memorize your account number? I don't understand the paranoia here; bizarre. This sounds ok to me.

now I'm really confused
also, what's the difference between logging in at the office vs printing out my statements?

Because logging in at his office, he can have a computer programme to save all your data and account details, whilst a printout is only all the transactions and he can't do that much with numbers on a piece of paper.
NEVER give out account login details.
