Off topic, why do Israelis call it a chanukiah, and we call it menorah? It's not like it's a yiddish word, like shul or something

The word chanukiah originates with modern Hebrew.

Why more than other ones here? We are all finding humor in titles and not making fun of the op. Doughnut is a correct spelling. But us lazy folk spell it donut. I really don’t see what’s wrong with her reaction. She’s not making fun of that op because it’s not even wrong!
Also, we often comment here on real misspelled titles and typos. I hope those OP’s don’t get insulted.
