So, I bombed out in lakewood. Need la Point had the canvas I'm looking in Tallis bag size. I need tefilin bag size. She told me that the designer is no longer doing it anymore.
So I want to find a store that may still have it in stock
Stitches in Deal is closed on sunday, but I emailed them. They don't have it either. They will custom paint one for $300. Thats not in my budget unfortunately. I've been emailing other stores but no luck yet.
Can anyone recommend stores-online or in any location that I can contact and ask if they have it?
This is the one I'm looking for:

Thank you. But it's not a Pepita. I need stores, not brands.

Me too! but my grandson wants the one I posted. I've made it before, showed him all the ones I made and he wants THIS one. It never occured to me that it wouldn't be easily available.

Here’s what I would do:
Scan the picture. Resize it to tefillin size and print it in color. Buy a blank/white canvas that’s tefillin size.
Layer the canvas over the photo. Clip all the edges. So it stays securely in place. Put it over a light box. Then, paint on the canvas. You’ll be able to see the scene from your photo due to the holes in the canvas. The light box may not even be necessary. I would use watercolors, as acrylics may clog the holes and stiffen the fabric.
Does this make sense?

This one seems to be only Pepita too.
I need stores that carry other brands.

Yes, it does. I may just try that. It will definitely be cheaper than having someone else custom paint it.
But I'll still accept links to other stores. I think I'm better off with brick and mortar ones as they will usually carry a variety of brands.

Is the pattern copyrighted?
Can you upload it here?
https://www.needlepaint.com/
Alternatively, T&P's post reminded me that I once used a windows program (I think it was free) to convert an image to an embroidery pattern (I think I got to specify the density of stitches, etc) . I then printed it on iron-on paper and ironed it to the canvas. All stitching took place through the paper...
Technology has come a long way since then (I think this was in '05 or '06), maybe something less clunky could work for you...

Maybe check out Etsy... no one I can recommend but I've ordered custom projects from them in the past and it was cheaper then going to a local store

Tell him that it isn't available and let him choose again. No shame in that! There are some on that site that have a similar vibe and are really nice.

There used to be a place on Route 59 in Monsey. Needlecraft and More. If they’re still around, I’d try calling them.

Another thing many photo printers have a canvas setting. Do you know anyone who would have one?
Take the canvas tape it on to card stock and print out the picture on the printer.
That is how I made a custom bag for my boys.
H'tzlacha I hope something works out.

So I tried this, but the picture really doesn't show thru well. (no light box). The weave of the canvas is too tight.

I tried Etsy, they don't have it. I will look again to see if someone will custom paint it for a reasonable (for me) cost.

Quoting this in case OP missed it.
You need to scroll through the colors to find the print you wanted. Says there are 2 left in stock

Only in Tallis bag, not tefillin. Unfortunately. (yes, I emailed them to ask)
