I see car seats have a huge range in prices. Can someone explain the differences? Why would people spend a few hundred dollars if there are car seats available for a little over $100?
I don't drive, so our car seat gets used only a few times a year on family trips. Our toddler car seat expired ages ago. We own a Doona, but my toddler obviously outgrew that. Also, how does a booster seat differ from a toddler car seat? DD is 21 months old. I had seen this deal earlier this morning and debating if it's worthwhile for our lifestyle.

People spend more on car seats if they’re using the car seat a few times a day. There are some useful features that make it slightly less annoying to put the baby in like a rotating car seat so you can face the car seat towards the door of your car while putting the baby in and then turn it to face front while driving for example. If you use a car seat as rarely as you say, I’d think abt the cosco car seat (very cheap but maybe less comfortable too) or this fisher price.

I’m not sure what age they switch to a booster seat. Definitely look into that.

I'm not sure about the price differences. For my older kids I won a really high end convertible seat (primo viaggio) in a sweepstakes and it was really great. Super soft for baby, very easy install and adjustments for parents. Easy parts to adjust the angle perfectly without having to stuff something under a side. But over time cheaper brands tend to learn how to do things better so I'm willing to believe that the Graco is a fine choice. I'll be needing one in a few months iyh so should probably grab this deal as my old one expired long ago.

For infants, I had a chicco key keyfit for my older babies - it was midrange, not the cheapest but not the really high end either. I was very happy with it. I liked it better than the cheaper Graco one I borrowed for the beginning. Seemed more comfy for baby, and easy to install and adjust, and fairly easy to carry around. Current baby I got a handed down nuna pipa and was excited because it's higher end and I thought I was getting a metzia. I liked the chicco a lot better. The install is similar but the straps seem less comfortable and not as easy to adjust. It feels clunky when I need to take it in and out (maybe I'm just getting old?) If not for inflation I would just buy another chicco. Unfortunately nowadays everything is expensive.

Anyway my point is more expensive is not necessarily better. All car seats are engineered and tested for very high safety levels, and the only differences if any are in user experience, possible bells and whistles (I do like the extra extendable sun canopy on the nuna.)

If you need to fit 2-3 across then the narrower ones tend to be more expensive, I think.

Forgot to answer the other part of the question. Booster seats don't hold the child, they just put them in the right position for the adult sized car seat belt to fit properly. Car seats have stronger harnesses and padding all around. A toddler can easily wiggle out of a regular seat belt while a car seat will hold them in a safe position, prevent their body from lurching forward in a crash or sudden stop, as well as cushion them from impact on more sides

You should
Or you can set up a registry at Target and do the same.
Or Pish Posh Baby has a great rewards program (and no tax if you're not in NJ), which a great way for significant discount on Doona

I'm not a deal maven but best buy has some good looking prices on phones. I use Verizon and some phones are under $1 a month (plus $35 Verizon activation fee and tax on the retail value but still feels like a steal)

Looking for quality set of milchig nonstick pots.
I purchased these last Black Friday but recently they started emitting a terrible unhealthy chemical smell, and they need to be dumped. (I guess I couldn't have expected better from Farberware, especially at the $35 price I paid for the set.) Farberware Dishwasher Safe... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016.....ss_tl

I just ordered a set of stainless steel milchig pots. So done with nonstick... they are mostly toxic anyways.
