In the midst of the tragedy currently striking all of Am Yisrael, I am experiencing my own personal tragedy.
I just got up from sitting shiva for my beloved husband who died suddenly. (not war related)
He was a modest man, a man of excellent midot, an ohev shalom and rodef shalom. He was kind to all and loving to our family.
He made many sacrifices so that we could raise our children in Israel and told me that even though it was difficult at times he was shalem with our decision and happy that we had done it.
He had spent all the Tishrei chagim here in Israel for the first time in years. He was so happy to be here, enjoying our shul, our community, the children and the grandchildren.
We were supposed to fly to the States together on October 11. After the massacres that obviously didn't happen. So he said, you need to see your mother, you go, I'll stay here with the children (who are adults), I don't want to leave them alone during a war. When you come back, I'll go to deal with the business. Always putting other people first.
May he be a melitz yosher for our family, our community and Klal Yisrael.

I was so sad to read this.
From my years here on the forum I feel like I’ve gotten somewhat of a glimpse into your life, and the way you describe DH is how I imagined your family. Devoted mensch.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's never a good time to lose a special spouse, but now is probably the worst time. He sounds like such a kind, caring person .
