I recently stopped drinking coffee because I’m pregnant and the taste is too strong but I miss having a hot drink on a cold morning and tea doesn’t cut it. Any other ideas what I can drink?? Don’t like hot chocolate

I know you said tea doesn’t work, but have you tried tea with milk (and sugar)? Maybe Chai tea.
With milk, it’s a drink that “feels” more like coffee, but with milder taste.

Ooh maybe. My problem with tea is I have about a five minute span to drink it. Either it’s scalding hot and burning my mouth or it’s warm or cold and not appealing anymore

You can have a coffee in the morning when you’re pregnant.

I find regular coffee too harsh but a good decaf isn't especially if you make it with hot milk rather than water.

How does tea have this issue and not coffee?
Sometimes I make tea in a thermos. Retains heat longer.

She said it's bc the taste is too strong
I can't either drink coffee when I'm pregnant. It makes me nauseous but I need the caffeine kick so I relate

I can drink hot coffee or even boiling coffee. Freshly made tea is too hot for me, probably because there’s no milk to cool it off a bit

I love to make milk tea.
Half water, half cream in pan, with cardamom pods and a cinnamon stick + black tea
Tastes heavenly!

Would you try tea and add cold water to make it cool enough to drink right away? Kind of like the milk that you add to the coffee that cools it off same way you would add cold water to cool it off.

I don’t know. Tea is not thick and creamy like coffee, at least the coffee I used to have.

Growing up we drank this coffee like drink called postum. Looked like coffee granules and you mixed with hot water and tastes ok

The taste of instant coffee made me really nauseous when pregnant but I couldn't give up the caffeine so I switched to cold brew which is way more mild and less acidic.

I bought something called dandy blend from health food store. Looks like coffee but much healthier and milder in taste

I add coffee creamer like califia to tea. Cools it down, makes it rich and creamy like a coffee drink

Another vote for milk and tea. Black/chai makes a great alternative for coffee and has some caffeine as well.
I've been drinking stash spiced chai with a generous splash of oat milk. Amazing flavor!
