No to both.
Somehow I never spent shabbos in the Old city, but was there on Shavuos once! That was the only time I walked (very quickly and nervously) through the muslim quarter with throngs of other Jews.

Yes, the tops of mountains have snow in the summer.

I did but not out of religiosity, I was staying in the shabbos apartment in the Shul….
