Eliezer brought one along for Rivka when he came to find a girl for Yitzchok.
When did it become a non-frum thing? I happen not to like the look, asking out of curiosity...
Is it just not trending now?

In the dati leumi world it's in. It has not been accepted in mainstream society for maybe a thousand years, possibly more. 40 years ago it was perceived to be a rebellious thing amongst non jews, and now is mostly accepted in western non jewish culture.
I think in indian cultures they never stopped.

It's a bad translation. It wasn't a piercing.
It's an old type of jewelry - a kind of linked crown which clips into the hair and drapes down over the nose.
You'll see it in Yemenite Jewish and Arab bridal jewelry

First of all just because it was a thing back then, does not mean it's acceptable in the frum world now - times have changed.
Secondly, according to some opinions, it was actually one of those necklace things that go around the head at the top of the head and then the pendant comes down to the nose (think Indian headpiece jewelry)

Literally every woman under 30 in my office in NYC has one or more of them. They are extremely common among Jewish and non Jewish women. I have stopped noticing because they are mainstream. Many DL women that we know have them as well. Has not caught on with American, RWO/Chassidish, but multiple ear pierces are much more common among them than in the past.

Not trending? It depends what community you are in.
Im in the DL world, beein in Israel for over 20 years and have always seen women in my world with nose rings. Sonetime studs and sometimes a tiny hoop. Its been the tend in my community for a very long time.
As has having more than one ear pearcing in each ear. Many DL females, girls and women have that.
