Clarissa - if I were to go through your previous posts and ask for recipes, would you be horribly offended?
My inlaws are very health-foody and my husband loves that stuff as well (and I do too), but I grew up cooking your traditional frum food. Your food always sounds so fresh!

I don't know if my food is so health foody (I could certainly make food with less fat and sweet stuff, and more protein) but is very vegetable-y. Some meals are healthier than others, in my opinion. As I've said here, my son would be much happier with the more traditional frum food than with my stuff. Give the boy a piece of chicken and you'll make his day.

yes, I'm having my whole family over for lunch. It's the equivalent of three normal shabboses for us combined. I just finished the cake. Awesome.

Sounds wonderful. I'm sure they'll all be very impressed. Then, every time you entertain them, you'll have to keep it up. It's going to be exhausting and stressful. Finally you'll decide you have to move far away from any and all family, so you can live your life in peace.
Or everyone will have a great time, love the food, and you'll feel happy and proud of yourself.

Nah, they know what to expect from me, to the extent that sometimes I will serve them slop and they will still say "You're so fancy." I have them wrapped around my truffle oil covered finger.

Just us for dinner tonight, going out for lunch tomorrow. This menu is tentative, since I have not yet bought any of the ingredients... I love late Shabbos...
Homemade challah from the freezer and onion pletzels currently rising
Moroccan meat turnovers
A green salad w/ chicken in it
Rice or rice salad (just saw a good wild rice salad recipe)
A green veggie (we just discovered collard greens and love them!
Fruit for dessert?
Suggestions are welcome
