Does anyone know how much an experienced high school math and science teacher might be paid per course OOT? I’m not yet at the point of salary negotiation, but I haven’t taught in a few years and I want to be prepared. Thanks. ☺️

It depends.
Half day or whole day?
What city?
Boys or girls or coed?
College prep or no?
How academic is the school?
What level of degree do you have?
How many years experience?
What benefits is the school giving?
Do you get paid preparation time?
Do you know how to use everything in the classroom? Will someone have to teach you?

BY schools out of town that I know of pay per period.

The pay will depend on cost of living. So Cleveland, S. Bend, and Detroit are OOT, but so are Chicago, LA, and Toronto, which are obviously a different pay grade.

I could tell you that as an inexperienced teacher in LA 15 years ago I got paid $45/period in a high school.
Perhaps cheap places nowadays would pay around that much.

Depends. At the school I'm at, around 5-7k per period, for the year. It varies because not all periods are same amt of days.
Another school I know pays 60/hr

These options are a lot more than where I am from…
I think people are making closer to $35/40 for a period.

I've heard $10k per period (OOT middle school).

I would definitely negotiate... at this point the schools need you more than you need them.

Large OOT community , small middle school

1-4 pm mon-thursday
No degree necessary
Each 45 min period is approximately 7,000-8,000 for the year?
(Whole afternoon would be around 22,000 or more based on experience)
