I probably have about 20. I don't really "use" most of them - in that I'm not big on following recipes (except for baking). I mainly like to read them for ideas - and I mainly only buy the ones that have lots of color photos. I can't deal with making something if I can't see what the end result is supposed to look like.

Hmmm I'd say around 15-20. I don't use them for every day cooking, but for holiday meals, out they come!
My latest purchase is the Spice & Spirit cookbook.

I have around 25, most of which I bought before I was married. I love cookbooks, & if they were cheaper I'd have much larger collection. I use most of them, but there are about 10 that are my favorites, so I get the most use out of those.
DH loves to tease me about my cookbook collection.

Never enough! (as far as I'm concerned).
I LOVE COOKBOOKS. Love to read 'em. Love to look for recipes in 'em.
I'm crazy.
I cut out all the recipe pages from Hamodia and Mishpacha. Haven't put them anywhere yet, but they are accumulating.... I'm obsessed with not missing out on a good recipe. Nuts.
I've found that there are some amazing Israeli cookbooks out there with great pictures (and recipes LOL)

In my home, dh is the one who buys the cookbooks. He likes to putter around in the kitchen and enjoys experimenting with new recipes. I cook on a more regular basis, and I tend to make old favorites or get new recipes from my mother or from friends. That way I know whether something will turn out well.
I think we also have 15-20 cookbooks. Dh purchased a HUGE one recently (Starting with Ingredients by Aliza Green), and now we've run out of room on our cookbook shelf.

5 compilations from a yearly fundraiser and an accordion file of my own. Also a Good Housekeeping one that has fallen apart.
Who needs a cookbook when all the best recipes are right here?

I have about 50, but only use around 10. I typed up my favorite recipes and put them into a binder, so I dont have to open all my cookbooks to make shabbos.
I also LOVE to experiment, and do a lot of google-ing recipes, to try out new ideas. The internet has saved me money on new cookbooks! (I dont hold by 'kosher'only' recipes, as almost anything can be adapted.)

I have about 40-50 and I only use 8-10 depending on my mood.
but once I make something that taste good I stick to it so I dont
really get a chance to use the other ones.
p.s. dh buys alot of the books too.

I'll let you know as soon as I'll be in my kitchen after my (supposed) nap. No way am I going out there now...
Oh wait! I'm sitting on one right now. This one has no pictures whatsoever but it's got a zillion recipes.
It's called מטעמי הבית היהודי by Chana Davidoff. There's something for everyone and it's not an expensive one.

I have about 20-30. Some I've never used, some I use a ton of recipes from & some I have for only one recipe. Plus I have a huge binder full of recipes from imamother & magazines/newspapers or online sources. I love reading cookbooks, especially if they have pictures in them.
