I'm NOT going to let my mother spend that much.... I meant 'A Lot' as in $50 - $75... not $15 - $25... Get it?

Thanks for your suggestion, though... Keep on trying!

American Girl products--if not a doll, there are trading cards and other stuff....

What about a Webkinz....

My 8 year old sister is obsessed with Ello--she has some decorating pocketbooks, flowers, etc. all from amazing savings....

Also, I wouldn't get a gameboy or any type of electronic game without consulting the child's parents first.

When dd turned 8 she wanted 2 things really badly. An american girl doll and a siddur with her name on it.

Crafty sort of stuff is also good for that age.

My dd's wish list - Music Box, matching set of jewelry, American Girl Doll (which she'll admit she'll probably be bored of in a week, but most of her friends seem to have them), and an Ipod/MP3 player.

The 1st two I may buy for a birthday etc....but she knows if she wants the other two she'll have to save up herself. My determined little girl is working on it. What did you end up getting for your niece?

Unfortunately, she's got no mother! Sad

This girl has whatever you could think of from the American Girl catalogue, including dolls & accessories (with most of it coming from my mother!)

I ended up going into the store, and asking the lady what she recommends... she showed me to this latest thing everyone's playing with... the ball, with something around it, and you jump.... I forgot the name of it.... and I also bought an activity book....

Now.. That's REALLY cheapie... and mom was quite upset about it... BUT I HAD NO PATIENCE AT ALL TO BROWSE THE STORE FOR SOMETHING ELSE! Profile
