Waiting for a response. Did you hear from them yet?

I emailed them - whoever I know (including myself), was denied.

I did not get a rejection Rion email.
I do know people who already recieved checks for this summer.
Last summer I recieved checks for a few children in Aug.
(Not very helpful with laying out full payment before camp but was definitely happy to recieve)

How do you know when to apply? Every year it's open unpredictably for a day, and I miss it

Did you hear anything from them. Do they send a rejection letter if you are denied or they just don’t respond? Thanks.

I think if you don't meet criteria (applied for child under age) will get a rejection letter.
Otherwise from what I hear sounds like you have no clue if when and how much will recieve

I tried to apply 2 years already, every time I miss the time to sign up. Do they pay for the whole camp? My kids really want to go to camp but I can't afford it

I heard they usually pay for half. Never got it yet!
It's not very helpful because you don't know if you'll get or not, but if you wait to find out there's no more room in camp.

I have nothing nice to say about this fund, so I won't. And I don't want to hijack this thread. But I would like to add that pj library has a scholarship that they give $1,000 the first year a child goes to a Jewish overnight camp. That I did get - for 2 children.

Thank you! Do you know if I can still sign up?

You can't apply for the scholarship if you live in Lakewood!
Just wanted to add that I know someone who got from the fund and I was so happy for her! Apparently they get way more applications that they have resources for. I think it's nice that some families get helped.
