Good question! We're going to have to do it tomorrow, iy"H. Our storage place is in the "boidem" (Yiddish) - a large area beneath part of the ceilings of two rooms. The last two months water was leaking into one of those rooms, we couldn't find the source for the constant puddles of water. This past Shabbos, water started running from above into both of these rooms. We noticed the water was running from the boidem, of all places. I didn't know that boidems have pipes in them. Motzei Shabbos, my husband took everything down from the boidem. Things were soaking wet. B"H our son is ke"h very handy and he changed a part of a pipe that was worn out, from which the water was running. Then we had to dry the boidem. Dh placed a standing fan on the freezer, it faced the boidem. It took until today. B"H the place is dry. And the stuff that was there also dried. Now's what I call the hard work - putting everything back!
And dh said very wisely, "if the stuff is anyway down we might as well sort through it and see what can be thrown out."
Very true! But grrrrrr! I hate sorting through lots and lots of stuff, that's why I try to keep my things neat and in order and give away what's not needed.
And I'm also allergic to dust, does anyone have this? If they go near dust or touch dust or any powdery stuff, they start sneezing. I feel like the skin on my face is crawling and itchy. And get cuts on my hands. I'd be interested if anyone does suffer from this if they can kindly tell me what they do for it? (Besides disposable gloves, which doesn't help me.) ty
