Would you put your boys in tights? If so, up to what age? Only for simchos, or with a typical Shabbos outfit?

I know someone who used to put tights on her boys under their pants so they could not take their socks off but once a kid is past that stage I cant see why you would but tights on boys ever.

No way! Tights is girls wear. Why would you want to put tights on a boy? That's just strange.

I've done it in the winter when it's freezing, under pants, for a 3 and 2 year old. Would never make it a part of an outfit

Ive seen it done with young boys (2-3 years old ish) in more "european fashion-y" shabbos ensembles and I would never ever do it. Ever.
We want our boys to grow into strong young men who take care of their wives and yet we dress them like feminine sissies...gross

I put tights on my little boys when they were in the baby/crawling stage for a shabbos/simcha outfit in the winter for a very short romper

Nonsense
I have put my boys in tights for warmth plenty of times. If you don’t get cold enough weather, then you just don’t know.

I'm European and over here it's normal to put tights on baby/toddler boys. (shabbos only though) Is it really not done in USA? For me it's not girly at all, it's a basic, like socks.

All my son's Shabbos outfits in the winter were short until he turned about 3 years old, he wore tights with them in the winter and during spring/fall knee socks. Very European and classy. (Some of his clothing was actually from pepa and co)
And my boys are quite masculine (for the poster who was worried). Tights being girly is a cultural thing. |
I'm from Williamsburg and never saw a boy in tights besides for newborn babies wearing tights under a romper. Yes, some people here dress their kids very weird, but I have yet to see walking boys in tights. Boys wear shorts with knee socks, even in the winter.

Honest question, why don't they just wear long pants in the winter?
