We took along quarters when we went out to be able to call home from public phones.

Bread was sliced in machine in grocery, when you bought.

Counters were in back of grocery with milk in fridge behind counter man

Typing classes with a classroom full of typewriters klapping

We sat in camp on kestlech no fancy camp chairs

Seesaws, arch shaped monkey bars, merry go rounds.

Croucheted jumpers for little girls with mohair pompoms

"Chuts made from ribbons"

I remember the grosgrain ribbon bow hair clips! I wore them, but they were in style about 12 years ago again.

We should totally open a detective agency. We'll nail the suspect third or fourth try 😉.

So when I was young, when we went on to the country we'd hire two cars. My parents had these (super low quality) two way radios and try communicate when one of the kinderlach needed the bathroom! It was such fun! (They were pink)

I remember a world without cellphones and current photocopiers that produced copies in black ink. I remember when teachers used to "run off stencils" that were handwritten/hand drawn, and if they were creative, they did it in three different colors- blue, pink, and green. I remember when personal computers and then scanners and then internet and cellphones were novelties - in fact, I remember using floppy disks in schools when we had computers. I remember fax machines.
*Lisa Frank was popular when I was in about fifth grade.
*A slice of pizza went up to $1
* Mitzvah gum
* Ching-chong (aka Chinese jump rope), with games for some reason named Russian, French.... ("Maza, Faza, Sista, Brudda")
*Our 8th grade teacher had a stack of carbon sheets to copy notes for friends who were absent.
*Sunflower hair accessories in seventh grade
*Only frum publications I remember were the Jewish Press, Olomeinu, and The Jewish Observer. The Yated must have come out when I was a preteen or teen, and Hamodia weekly a bit later. I was married already when Hamodia Daily came out.
* I remember going to the public library to borrow journals for a college research assignment because the internet was not what it is today.
* I remember dial-up internet and "You've got mail!"
*Milk came in cartons and apple juice in glass bottles.
*Unfiltered NYC water was kosher
*No one I knew owned a winterized summer home. Whoever went upstate had dumpy bungalows.

Will add more as I remember more

*A world without Crocs
*Prizes in cereal boxes. Honeycomb once had watches that we all wanted. Our favorite color was pink but for some reason, the pink watches were rare.
*What were CD's? Cassettes tapes and diskettes. We would use pencils to wind up the tape strip of the cassettes if necessary. For that matter, I even vaguely remember records.
*Torah cards! They were amazing and so educational. Such interesting facts about different people/events/places in Tanach. Each card had tons of well-researched details. A shame that they stopped producing them.

I know I'm making it easy, but I'm enjoying this trip down memory lane.

(I wish it's anon-enabled.)

Was I hugged because I'm old? What

You are definitely my mom’s age. (Perhaps you are my mom?)

Um... No, I'm definitely not your mom. Barely old enough to have married children.

Variety Corner had rolls hanging at the register, and each square of stickers- we called them "box stickers"- was 25¢. Variety Corner used to be the hottest spot for school supplies (they still are!) and they used to personalize backpacks with paint markers too, while you waited.
