I’m interested in finding out more about it.
I’d like to save some money in camp if my teen has a few hours of work.
Can anyone explain the process to me? are these dollars taxed? is there any hidden information I’m not aware of?

Is it for a Sleepaway camp? Do the kids with syep even work there? Are they eligible for it if a camp is upstate and not in NYC?
It's kid's money, $2K at most. Don't think they need to file income tax due that, but double check with an accountant.

Day camp? They get money for working only starting at 16. I don't think there are day camps for that age any more?
At 14-15, they get a stipend ($700?) for doing some program (used to be online, not sure about now), not working

Yea she’s over 16 and wants to work at the daycamp program at her school (they have a program for teens as well). She agrees to work so she can pay part of the program.
