What do your younger teen sons do in the summer if they don't like sports. Most camps have a ton of sporty activities...

This is sooo hard. I search high and low for something. One summer I sent my son to a "backyard" type camp. They did more boys scouty type activities and wood working.

I have 2 are older teen boys and one younger teen boy- all 3 hate sports. BH my community has a (ages 11-15) travel camp. It's a day camp (couple overnights, but for the most part a day camp). They learn a bit in the morning and then do trips every single day. Very little sports--maybe an hour a day if at all. It's expensive--but not so many options for the non-sports oriented boys.

I’m also looking for a sleep away camp solution along these lines. My oldest is 12. He loves learning and is into robotics and coding. He’ll do boating and hiking, but there’s no way he’ll enjoy 4 weeks worth of watching other kids play ball.
Any ideas?

Usually Camp Chaverim gets recommended. I know a family who did send two boys there and it sounds like they had a good time.

My younger son is going to Chaverim, second year IyH. He loved it, and it’s an absolutely wonderful camp. Also as parents, we had such a good experience with them. But there’s a fair amount of sports there.

If your located in Brooklyn there is a local day camp that has learning in the morning and then they do different activities every day..swimming, hiking, fishing, etc. Sports maybe a few times a summer. Its very laid back place though so you would have to be able to handle not knowing when your son will be home etc.

Baltimore. I'm paying WAY more than I'd like to for a local trip camp.

If they're yeshivish there are some camps where the teens are very learning oriented. There are probably still sports but not a big focus.
