Okay here is the scenario:
In my circles, a single person usually gives $75 for a wedding present, married will give $150 (obviously can be different if you are very close, etc - but this is what is generally done).
I have a wedding that I will be going to without my hubby - how much should I give?

Dono what to tell you cuz ur amounts of $75 and $150 are pretty steep. According to what I got, not many close relatives even, gave $75!! But each gives what they can afford, specially w/ so many simchas all the time.

I would say it depends on how close you are to the people making the simcha. If you are very close, I'd give the same gift I would have given if my husband attended. If you are not very close, I'd say the single amount is OK. But trust your gut. If you are afraid you are going to be viewed as cheap (which I don't like to do), then go somewhere in the middle - $118?

a present is a gift of the heart - you give according to how you feel - not what is commanded of you ... and whether or not your husband goes is irrelevant ...
